I was privileged to receive an invitation to the Inaugural High Tea at Sweet Cillies a little while ago and, while I meant to post about it, life got in the way and, excuses aside, here we are.
At the time of the launch, 3 dates were planned for the once a month High Tea, with the next one just around the corner on 18 August. According to their latest Facebook post, there are a few spaces available, but you will have to move quickly! Check it out over here.
So, without any further delay, let me tell you about all the deliciousness. We were super spoiled guinea pigs on the day of the launch, where Cilla was keeping a careful eye on which items were devoured the fastest, and which items were a bit slower off the mark. With a comprehensive range of both savoury and sweet, you definitely won’t go hungry with this buffet, and it makes it a wallet friendly treat at R245 per person, while children 12 and under pay R185.
My favourite thing about the high tea, aside from all the profiteroles you could eat, was the size of the portions. While dainty delights have their place, I like actually having more than just one bite of something yummy. But, maybe that’s just me. The stand out treats include the lightest and most delectable quiches and mouth watering mini pies on the savoury side, with the brownies and cheesecake knocking my socks off when it came to the sweeter perspective.
