Everyone travels differently. Your choices when it comes to preparing for your journey, may depend on budget, work commitments or family dynamic.
What I have found when planning a trip, is its often difficult to picture where your accommodation is in relation to everything else. So you may select something for an overnight stay that is way off the beaten track, which doesn’t make sense. Why would you volunteer to drive WAY off the national highway, when you’re just looking for a place to rest before moving on?
Coral Tree Cottages is a great place to stop over. It is just 5 hours from Cape Town and a stone’s throw away from Plettenberg Bay. Our next few posts will cover a few of the wonderful, family things you can do in Plettenberg Bay.
Coral Tree shares their vast property with Adventure Land, which is a water wonderland from September to the end of April. When we stayed overnight, the pumps had been shut off the day before, which was probably a good thing, because it certainly is chilly after sunset in the Garden Route. Not that the kids would notice. I remember swimming in thunderstorms and pouring rain. I mean, you’re already wet so what difference does it make, right?
There is a play frame for the little ones as well as a small dam with a half sunken boat. The lush garden makes you feel like you’re miles away from the N2 national highway and the swimming pool will be popular with young and old. There is an electric fireplace as well as a TV with limited satellite channels.
It is around the corner from Radical Raptors and the Plettenberg Bay puzzle park. Check out a few pictures from our stay on our Facebook page.
